Scottish quartet Vigo Thieves are set to release their hard-hitting new single 'Forever' on September 10th 2012 through Little Big Shot records.
Accompanying it is a gritty video featuring acting talent from Jody Latham ('Shameless', 'Eastenders') and Mary Jane O'Harra. It shows a reckless but completely in love couple who get into a fight in a club, steal from a shop armed with a knife and speed along a country road in a stolen car. As expected, they seemingly have some sort of accident; the boy, covered in bleeding cuts, is shown fallen out of the car in agony and crawling towards his girlfriend who lies dead on the ground some feet away. The fast pace of the video is a stark contrast to this otherwise slow indie ballad. The soft drum beats and lingering vocals reflect the tragedy of the video in that retrospective way songs often do when transferred to an audio-visual media.
Vigo Thieves (made up of vocalist Stevie Jukes, guitarist Barry Cowan, bassist Gordon Phipps and drummer Al Jukes) and their previous EP 'Heart and Soul (Part 1)' have been well received by various publications including Classic Rock Magazine, The 405 and The Daily Record. They managed to gather a good crowd on the BBC Introducing Stage at T in the Park Festival and are set to make more live appearances this September with shows in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
