Lynn Bynes has said that the majority of information in the news, relating to Amanda's treatment, has not been released by anyone in the family, and should be taken with a pinch of salt
In the past week or so, we have 'learnt' that Amanda Bynes has moved from a psychiatric ward to a rehab centre and has been officially diagnosed with having schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, however her mother, Lynn Bynes, as since told people to be wary about what they read regarding her daughter.
Speaking with People, she warned that about "99 percent" of what is written about her is unverified and usually made, and asked for any recent stories to be "taken with a pinch of salt."
Amanda's behaviour became increasingly erratic earlier this year
"I would really like everyone out there to know that almost 99 percent of the things written about my daughter in various media outlets are false or misleading," Lynn told People. "Unless it's a statement issued by our family attorney, Tamar Arminak, please take everything you read about Amanda with a grain of salt. We appreciate everyone's heartfelt support and we hope that she can get some privacy and the respect she deserves during this trying time. Both my husband and I love Amanda very much and we know that she will get through this situation."
The statement from Lyne comes after Amanda, 27, was reportedly moved from the UCLA Medical Center to The Canyon in Malibu, a rehab centre often frequented by celebrities. Her admittance to the rehab center was first reported by TMZ, who then confirmed the move with a statement from Arminak. Although it seemed to be a step back in her treatment at the time, the statement given to TMZ insisted that it was best for Amanda that she is moved and her relocation was done at the suggestion of her doctors. The former-child actress will remain at the rehab facility for the foreseeable future.
Other reports relating to Amanda, such as her diagnosis with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, have not been confirmed and as these and other reports continue to file in, Lyne's precautionary statement comes as little surprise.
Amanda was admitted in a psych ward following a series of erratic behaviour earlier this year. Among her strange behaviour included her throwing a bong out of her window in front of police and setting a fire in an elderly woman's driveway at a Venura County retirement community. There were also various reports around the time from people who lived with ehr that she was seen behaving anti-socially, talking to herself and being a menace around the public areas in her former New York City apartment complex.
