Amy Schumer got drunk and ate Jake Gyllenhaal's cake.

The 'Trainwreck' star has revealed how she helped herself to a frozen cake with the words 'Happy birthday' on it while renting the 'Southpaw' actor's apartment.

Appearing on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', Amy said: ''He left a frozen cake in his freezer. It was very old, it was not edible ... I would get drunk, and I would eat it, and I would talk as if he was there and I was at the party the cake was served at.''

The comedienne proceeded to show home footage of herself biting into the sizeable cake while saying: ''It says 'happy birthday' ... because it was your birthday. You're a supermodel and you're dating Jake Gyllenhaal.''

The confessions didn't stop there, however, as the 34-year-old star also admitted to rifling through Jake's possessions while staying at the apartment with her sister.

She quipped: ''I went through all of Jake's stuff, of course I did. Everything!''

Amy's recent rise to stardom has seen her befriend some top Hollywood stars - including Jennifer Lawrence.

The 'Hunger Games' actress previously said: ''I emailed her after I saw 'Trainwreck' and said, 'I don't know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I'm in love with you.' We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting. We really hit it off, to say the least.''
