Amy Schumer flashed her boob at the late Jimmy Buffett’s widow during a dinner to honour the crooner.
The ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ comic, 42, is said to have exposed herself as a prank to break the ice at the sombre event, set up to pay tribute to the life of the beloved ‘Margaritaville’ singer, who was killed by skin cancer in September aged 76.
Sascha Seinfeld – a staff writer on the TV show ‘Life and Beth’ that starred Amy and the daughter of Jerry Seinfeld – told the anecdote at the Variety Power of Women event in New York City, saying: “Last summer at a memorial dinner for the late, great Jimmy Buffett, when his widow Jane Buffett entered the room of grieving guests, Amy took one of her (boobs) out, walked right up to Jane, and gave her a huge hug.
“It cut right through the darkness and made everyone smile. If that isn’t a celebration of life, I don’t know what is.
“She also said to his daughter and my friend Delaney, ‘If it makes you feel any better, I wish my dad was dead.’”
Amy was friends with the Buffetts for years, and has said she listened to Jimmy’s music growing up.
The actress has said about Jimmy’s tunes: “It just made you feel like everything was going to be OK.”
Jimmy had a cameo in the second series of Amy’s ‘Life and Beth’ comedy.
Sascha also told a crowd that included Glenn Close, Nicky Hilton, Tamron Hall, and Melissa Joan Hart that when she was single Amy would respond to would-be suitors on dating apps for her by sending them messages such as: “You rich?”
Amy also spoke at the event, using her speech to talk about female empowerment and the organisation Everytown for Gun Safety – with which she began working after two women were shot and killed while seeing her movie ‘Trainwreck’ in July 2015.
Producer Shonda Rhimes, ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’ actress Mariska Hargitay and singer Anitta were also honoured at the event hosted by Amber Ruffin.
