After yet another successful year at the National Television Awards, presenter Ant Mcpartlin has said that he might not attend the ceremony next year because has found it too “emotional”.

McPartlin, one half of the beloved presenting duo Ant & Dec with his best friend and colleague Declan Donnelly, won the Best TV Presenter at the 2018 NTAs on Wednesday night (January 24th), just like he has done for the 16 consecutive years before that.

Given his much-publicised struggles with addiction that emerged in the press in 2017, coupled with the recent news of his divorce from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong, this year’s win was freighted with extra significance for him.

Following his recent stint in rehab for his addiction to alcohol and painkillers, presenter Ant Mcpartlin is reportedly repairing the strain that the ordeal put on his marriage to wife Lisa Armstrong after putting her “through hell”.

The 41 year old star, half of the legendary presenting duo Ant & Dec, shocked the world back in June this year after revealing that he had been battling dependencies on alcohol and painkillers following a knee operation a few years ago. He subsequently went into rehab for two months, but now that’s completed, he’s apparently trying to keep his marriage to 40 year old wife Lisa together.

The Daily Star reported on Friday (September 22nd) that, with the pair’s upcoming schedules, their 11 year marriage is coming under increasing pressure.

Following suggestions that he was preparing to take up to a year out of the spotlight, ITV bosses have confirmed that Ant Mcpartlin will be returning by the end of 2017 to present the upcoming series of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’.

The 41 year old presenter revealed earlier this year that he nearly died as he battled depression and struggled to overcome dependencies on alcohol and prescription drugs. He entered rehab back in June this year, having been addicted to super-strength painkillers for two years after a knee operation back in 2015.

When news of it came out, it cast doubt over whether the Geordie presenter would be able to front ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ in Australia in October alongside his colleague Declan Donnelly as they do every year.

Simon Cowell has declared that he will stand by ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ host Ant Mcpartlin as he goes through rehab.

McPartlin, 41, announced back in June that he was entering rehabilitation for drug and alcohol issues. He had admitted to his wife Lisa, and his best mate and professional partner Declan Donnelly, that he had been suffering a painful knee injury and from fertility issues.

Now, 57 year old Cowell, Ant’s television boss and whom he has known for years, has spoken out in his defence and praised his courage in going public with his issues.

TV presenters Ant and Dec earned an eye-watering £29.5 million together during the last year – equating to a hefty £79,000 every single day – it has been revealed.

New accounting documents filed by the Geordie presenters, both aged 41, show that in the last 12 months they earned the massive figure for the year ending June 2016, thanks to their work fronting ‘I’m A Celebrity…’, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’.

Gemma Atkinson and Jason 'J' Brown endured a frightening encounter with a host of unsavoury jungle residents on the new series of I'm a celebrity...

The former Hollyoaks actress and the ex-boyband member were face to face with cockroaches, ants, meal worms and eel slime during the Terror Train and the Temple of Doom Bushtucker Trial, but endured the unpleasant Antipodean visitors to earn three meals for the camp.

Presenter Ant Mcpartlin told the pair that six stars were fixed inside the Temple of Doom, into which they would travel.

"You've got to go in search of them," he explained. "Sit in the cart and then the cart with move through. It will stop four times - when it stops, the star will fall from the ceiling along with some other jungle nastiness," said Ant.

"You have 30 seconds to secure your star before the cart moves again. This happens four times and the final two you find at the end, they're not going to drop, they will be hanging there so feel around for them."

Before the trial began, 'J' reassured Gemma, saying: "When it happens don't think about it, just grab the stars.

"It's going to be nasty - there are going to be things crawling all over us Gemma, are you ready?" he asked.

A bucket of eel slime soon cascaded over Gemma, before a cockroach shower left her screaming: "It's down my top, it's eating me, aaagh! It's nipping my back, the b**tard."

While 'J' was unable to find the star protected by a nest of green ants, Gemma ignored a shower of meal worms to grab a third star, securing a third meal for the contestants.

Back at the camp the contestants joked about a Cerys Matthews-Marc Bannerman wedding, and Janice Dickinson, Anna Ryder Richardson and Christopher Biggins all received special messages from their loved ones.
