Billie Joe Armstrong's on-stage meltdown won't affect his scheduled appearance on NBC reality singing contest The Voice according to show bosses. Deadline reports that Armstrong filmed his appearance some weeks ago and, according to a rep, they were "all taped and set". It's now been widely reported that the Green Day front man lost his rag somewhat during an appearance at iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas.

Angry at having their set cut from 45 minutes to 25 minutes so that the following act Usher could have more time on stage, Armstrong cut short their 1994 anthem Basketcase and launched into a foul-mouthed tirade that at one point saw him bizarrely proclaim "I'm not f***ing Justin Bieber". Armstrong has since checked himself into rehab, and on Sunday (September 23rd) the band issued the following statement via Facebook:

"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse. We would like everyone to know that our set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those we offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances." The timing of it isn't ideal, given that the group should be going full tilt with promotion for their new album Uno!, but there hasn't been any announcement on any forthcoming tour dates being affected, so we're trusting Billie has it under control.
