Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker has paid tribute to his late friend Dj Am on the third anniversary of his death.
The hitmaker and club icon, real name Adam Goldstein, died from an accidental drug overdose on 28 August, 2009, and Barker is still feeling the pain from the tragic loss of his Trv$Djam bandmate, who died almost a year after they survived a devastating plane crash which which killed four others in South Carolina.
Taking to his Twitter.com page on Tuesday (28Aug12), the drummer writes, "Rest in Peace/Power 2 (sic) my brotha Djam. Been 3 years it still feels like yesterday. Miss rockin/kickin' it hearing u (sic) drop knowledge..."
Barker will forever be grateful to Goldstein for trying to ween him off drugs and he has urged fans to remember the DJ by revisiting his music in his honour.
He continues, "Wish AM was still here for many reasons.He tried for years to get me sober & I was a dumpster & couldn't see thru (through) the fog. finally drug free...
"Bump every mix-tape he made today, turn that s**t up loud & enjoy. He was 1 of a kind. rip dj am".
Meanwhile, fellow producer A-Trak tweets, "Everyone likes to say DJs are the new rock stars... AM was the first true star DJ of our generation in America. The other day I was tweeting about how DJs are expected to be producers now. But AM was a true DJ, and that was enough for him to shine."
DJ Steve Aoki has also posted a series of photos of him partying with Goldstein, adding, "My brother forever and ever. I love and miss you Dj AM. Dj Am lives through all of us when we bring up his name and share his memories. Love You Always My Brother! Miss U So Goddamn Much!!! Rest in peace Adam".
