Busy Philipps has opened up about her co-parenting relationship with Marc Silverstein.
Busy Philipps believes good communication has been the key to her co-parenting relationship with Marc Silverstein.
The 44-year-old actress split from the Marc, 52, in 2021 - but they've not allowed their break-up to distract them from their parental responsibilities.
Busy - who has Birdie, 15, and Cricket, 10, with the screenwriter - told 'Entertainment Tonight': "Being able to communicate is important and necessary. And we weren't going to let any hurt feelings on our side affect how we can show up for what is essentially still a family."
Busy and Marc have both made their kids their number one priorities since their break-up.
She said: "I think that we just both understood, fundamentally, that we made a promise to each other and to our kids."
The former couple have also been working together in a bid to sell some of their old belongings.
Busy explained: "My ex-husband and I basically have had all of our stuff in storage since we moved from Los Angeles to New York. A huge amount of our stuff is in storage, and we were like, 'It's time, let's let go of it'.
"So we're doing this huge garage sale at Cure Thrift, and we also used the opportunity to clean out my closets."
Busy announced news of their separation on her podcast in 2022.
During an appearance on 'Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best', she shared: "It's been a really long time that Marc and I have been separated, and our kids know, our families know, our friends know."
Despite this, the celebrity duo resisted the temptation to release a statement announcing their split.
The actress - who married Marc in 2007 - explained: "Marc and I talked about it, and when we first separated, we couldn't even think about putting one of those statements out - it made us sick, both of us, truly ill."
