Ed Westwick is set to star in a Hollywood adaptation of 'Romeo And Juliet'.

The 'Gossip Girl' actor is reportedly in talks to star opposite 'True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld as Juliet's hot-tempered cousin Tybalt.

Holly Hunter is also included in the cast and will play Juliet's nurse and confidante.

Shooting for the new version of the Shakespeare play is set to begin in Italy this summer with a cinema release planned for next year.

Ed most recently starred in 'Chalet Girl' and drunkenly skied into a bar while shooting the movie.

His co-star Tamsin Egerton told BANG Showbiz: "We went to the Krazy Kangaroo bar and we had a few Jaegermeisters too many and we didn't know how to get down the slope to the next bar. So Ed just got on his back and 'skied' all the way down."

She added: "No serious injuries, thank God. I had a friend who did that and really shattered her shoulder. I don't think the insurance would cover that."
