Eric Clapton led mourners in singing at Jack Bruce's funeral yesterday.
The 71-year-old bassist - who died from liver disease last month - was laid to rest at Golders Green Crematorium in north London yesterday (05.11.14), and mourners including his Cream bandmates Eric and Ginger Baker, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, Procol Harum frontman Gary Brooker, guitarist Vernon Reid of Living Colour, and musician Nitin Sawhney sand 'Morning Has Broken', 'Strawberry Fields Forever' and Jack's own 'Theme For An Imaginary Western' at the service.
The musician's friend Pete Brown shared a number of stories at the funeral, while his wife Margrit also paid tribute and his children Malcolm, Natasha and Kyla added their own reminiscences. Additionally, a poem written by Jack's son Corin was also read, and a musical tribute penned by Eric was played to mourners.
The order of service described Jack as ''beloved husband, father, granddad and all round legend''.
On prominent display was one of the musician's bass guitars, and floral tributes in the shape of the bass clef symbol.
Announcing his passing last month, Jack's family said: ''It is with great sadness that we, Jack's family, announce the passing of our beloved Jack: husband, father, granddad, and all round legend. The world of music will be a poorer place without him but he lives on in his music and forever in our hearts.''
