Freida Pinto hates looking in the mirror.
The 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress isn't interested in constantly checking her appearance and is aware her beauty often works against her when it comes to landing gritty roles, although she is keen to change people's opinions of her in the industry.
The star - who played Latika opposite Dev Patel in the Oscar-winning drama - said: ''It's not necessarily the way I see myself. In fact, I don't even like to look at myself in the mirror.
''But I'm aware of the perception and I always say that if it's because of that one line in Slumdog where Latika is described as 'the most beautiful girl in the world', then I have to do everything that I can to change that perception.''
The Mumbai-born beauty - who is regularly spotted on the front row at exclusive catwalk shows - has expressed an interest in fashion from a young age and even found herself a ''secret tailor'' to help customise her clothes and create ''something wonderful for [her] to wear'' when she grew up in India.
Freida, 30, added she loves receiving gifts from designers and feels ''very lucky'' when she is approached to wear their designs.
She told Net-A-Porter's The Edit: ''I'm very lucky in that I'm given gifts all the time, but when you are given a dress to wear that's fresh off the runway, you do feel very special.''
