Hailee Steinfeld will join Vince Vaughn in 'Term Life'.

The Oscar-nominated 'True Grit' actress has been added to the cast of a new action thriller, which is based on a graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow.

The film centres on Nick Barrow, who sells offers heists to the highest bidder, but when he becomes targeted by mob bosses, killers and police officers, he decides to take out an insurance policy on himself with his daughter Cate (Steinfeld) as the beneficiary.

However, in order for the policy to take effect, he must remain alive for 21 days, so Barrow decides to go on the run with his daughter in tow.

Peter Billingsley will direct the film based on a script by Lieberman, and Vaughn will produce alongside Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn.

The director previously helmed 'Couple's Retreat', which also starred Vaughn.

Steinfeld will next be seen in a new adaptation of classic Shakespeare story 'Romeo and Juliet', playing the titular female character opposite Douglas Booth's Romeo. The film was written by 'Downton Abbey' creator Julian Fellowes.

She also has roles in upcoming movies, 'Ender's Game' and 'Can a Song Save Your Life?'
