Punk icon Henry Rollins is keen to become the Tv face of an extreme travelling series after collecting information from some of the least visited places on earth.
The former Black Flag frontman often sets off on journeys to remote places in the Middle East, Africa and Asia in between jobs to soak up the local culture, and admits the solo trips have helped him become an expert on backpacking - something he would like to share with Tv viewers.
He tells Wenn, "You learn a lot about things like finding good water. You go to parts of Africa, like Mali or Senegal, and you have to find the guy who has boxes of water and if you're gonna be in the place for longer than a few days, buy the whole box... I've found in some of these places (finding clean) water (can) become tricky."
Rollins admits he has fallen victim to food poisoning on his travels, and never wants to experience that again.
He adds, "I ate this woman's food in Russia because I didn't want to hurt her feelings and I just (The Exorcist actress) Linda Blair-projectile vomited. I've hurled twice in Russia and in Burma, I stupidly ate dinner one night in Rangoon... I was like, 'I'm so hungry and I'm so tired, but there's something about this food that's just saying, 'Don't!'
"I was doing a documentary... and I got the shot, said politely to the cameraman, 'I'll be right back', took 10 paces, put my arm around a tree to brace myself, spread my feet so I wouldn't get knocked over by the force of the projectile and I just completely bazooka vomited... I've been laid low in a few places."
The rocker reveals he is currently pitching an extreme travel series to U.S. Tv networks and in the meantime he is planning his next big adventure: "I'd really like to get into parts of central Asia that I've never been to, like Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan... anywhere around the Caspian sea. I'd like to get into northern Mongolia. You get choppered in and they pick you up from a pick-up point two weeks later.
"There's trips you can take across the Sahara with the salt gatherers, the Tuareg people and it's a pretty dodgy trip, but I would like to take that trip."
Corruption, self-interest and rampant bigotry are so clearly portrayed in this riveting documentary that if...
