John Travolta is being sued for $2 million by a masseur who claims the Hollywood star sexually assaulted him in a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel. In court papers obtained by Reuters and filed on Friday (May 4, 2012), the unidentified man accused Travolta of rubbing his leg, touching his genitals and trying to initiate a sex act during a massage on January 16, 2012.
The masseur's lawyer says a victim of sexual assault is perfectly entitled to remain anonymous if he fears extreme embarrassment. The suit claims that the man was met at a street-side location, picked up and driven to the hotel where he was to be paid $200 per hour. Named as John Doe in the documents, the masseur accuses Travolta of assault, sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The actor's spokesman had already dismissed the claim as a "baseless lie", saying, "On the date when plaintiff claims John met him, John was not in California and it can be proved that he was on the East Coast.John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and plaintiff for malicious prosecution".
Travolta, now 58, rose to fame with his classic movies 'Saturday Night Fever', 'Grease' and later 'Pulp Fiction'. He is about to begin work on Barry Levinson's crime-drama 'Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father', in which he plays mob boss John Gotti.
