The frequent collaborators shared the big moment by presenting each other with a sidewalk star in the city's newly-renovated Walk of Fame Park, joining previous honourees including Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton.

White did not prepare a speech for his big moment, so he used the time to pay tribute to superstar singer Lynn, who he has been working with since producing her 2004 album Van Lear Rose.

He told the audience, "I don't have anything prepared. But when it comes to talking about Loretta Lynn, I don't really need to prepare anything. I love her so much, I could talk for hours about her. One time an interviewer asked me, 'Jack, what's your favourite book, song and movie?' And I said, 'That's easy. (Lynn's album, book and movie) Coal Miner's Daughter."
