Marc Anthony emerged as the clear cut victor at last night's Billboard Latin Music Awards (24th April) where the New York native picked up a total of ten awards and charmed the crowd with a performance of his trademark Spanish music.

In all, Anthony took home Artist of the year, Hot Latin Song, Digital Song and Latin Airplay Song of the year for the record-breaking 'Vivir Mi Vida." The singer also won Top Latin Album of the year for 3.0, which was his first studio salsa album in a decade and has been credited with rekindling interest in salsa as a genre.

However, the 45 year-old Latin star didn't appear jaded or bored by his slew of trophies, inciting ecstatic screams from the audience every time he took to the stage. When giving his speech for Artist of the Year, Anthony said that the "this award really motivates me" and dedicated the prize to his kids.

He got the party started with the tropical salsa track 'Cambio de Piel' before he closed the 3 hour ceremony with his runaway hit 'Vivir Mi Vida," which broke a 2014 Latin chart record by spending 17 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart.

By all accounts, the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards belonged to Marc Anthony - no one else ever came near to matching his double figures awards total. La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho was next with five awards, including Top Latin Albums artist of the year, duo or group and Regional Mexican Albums artist of the year, duo or group.

Looking ahead to the Latin Grammys this November, Anthony will be fighting it out yet again for dominance across many of the prestigious ceremony's 47 categories. Last year, Anthony picked up the prize for record of the year with 'Vivir Mi Vida,' the key track from the salsa revival album 3.0 that sent Anthony on a whirlwind tour around the world and to the top of the charts.

Considering his album was released just weeks before the 2013 Latin Grammys, a similar surf of awards at the 2014 Grammys will be much harder to pull off for the former husband of pop star Jennifer Lopez. Throughout his career he has seen a lot more success at the smaller albeit notable awards shows like Billboard, the Lo Nuestro awards and the American music awards.

Will Marc Be Able To Repeat His Success At This November's Latin Grammys?

Having won less than half of the 13 Latin Grammys he has been nominated for, Anthony will have to work hard to make sure his new music isn't dazzled by fresher releases. Luckily, the international success of 3.0 and its subsequent singles stands him in good stead which should mean he has a clear shot come November.
