The Only Living Boy In New York [2017] Trailer

Thomas is feeling disillusioned by the bright city lights of New York following his college graduation. He's looking for something special, and he hopes he can find it in his friend Mimi Pastori. The only problem is, she only loves him as a friend and he wants more than that. That becomes the least of his worries, however, when he sees his father kissing a mysterious woman who, needless to say, isn't his mother. He follows the woman, who is named Johanna, and finds himself embroiled in a strange love triangle. Johanna seduces him and he becomes enchanted by her, though his feelings for her are obviously tainted by her involvement with his father. To make matters more complicated, Mimi is now seemingly jealous of Thomas' new love interest, and she has her own reservations about it. Thankfully, Thomas does at least have someone to talk to about it, but is his new neighbour W.F. Gerald really the best person to give him advice?

Director Marc Webb Cried On Set With Mckenna Grace

Marc Webb

There is something special about a director who can connect and empathise so completely with a child actor and that certainly seemed to be the dynamic between Marc Webb and 10-year-old Mckenna Grace on the set of family drama 'Gifted', the latter of whom praised his patience and sensitivity.

Andrew Garfield Emma Stone Marc Webb

We know Sony are keen on stretching the Spider-Man web as thin as it’ll go, but will we really see another Spidey flick in-between now and The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in 2016?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2Spider-Man battles Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

It’s all rumor, speculation and conjecture right now, but a report suggests that Andrew Garfield – the star of the franchise as the titular superhero - has been offered a multi-million dollar deal to play Peter Parker and his all-action alter-ego until 2020. What’s more, he's also contracted to appear in movies in 2015 and 2016.

Andrew Garfield reprises his role as the web-slinging city-sprawling Spider-Man in The Amazing-Spider Man 2, which hits cinemas on April 18. In these new clips, we get a glimpse of both Electro’s explosive power, but of Garfield’s comic acting, which compliments the action nicely.

Amazing Spider-Man 2The Amazing-Spider Man 2 - living up to the name

Hype for this film is big. With Jamie Foxx looking amazing as Electro and Paul Giamatti looking pretty crazy as Rhino, comic book fans can’t wait to get their eyes on the second Amazing instalment, especially after the first fared so well with the critics. Of course, Sony Pictures will care more about the box office – and it didn’t fair too badly their either.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 - Clips Trailer

Peter Parker is facing a period of deep confusion in every aspect of his life. No longer is everything black and white, nor is it easy to know what the right thing to do is anymore. He's struggling to cope with the death of his dear Uncle Ben, while still feeling unfamiliar with his past in regards to his parents. He's also trying to hold down a relationship with Gwen Stacy, but she ultimately adds to his troubles when she finds herself in a dilemma of her own. Meanwhile in his professional capacity as Spider-Man, he's not finding it easy to differentiate between the villains, the heroes and the just plain hard-done by. He faces deadly battles with the formidable Rhino and the rage-filled Electro; the latter of who it turns out is just as frightened of his own power as everybody else is. It turns out that there is a darker force happening elsewhere, and when his friend Harry Osborn returns, he starts to see OsCorp's sinister involvement.

Spider Man Andrew Garfield Marc Webb Jamie Foxx Paul Giamatti

Sony Pictures announced in Thursday, 12 December that they have big plans for the Amazing Spider-Man series, plans that involve various spin-offs and possibly even an ensemble release or two in the not-so-distant future. The announcement comes as Sony try to keep up with Disney and Warner Brothers, who have already gained a foot-hold in the superhero movie business, with Sony hoping to capitalised on the popularity of Spidey and his many cross-over villains and fellow heroes.

Spiderman isn't leaving Sony's rooster any time soon

On Thursday, Sony Pictures announced - via Electro Arrives - that they are working on two villain-centred spin-offs from the Spidey franchise: Venom and The Sinister Six. This will give the film company opportunity to develop two major aspects from the Spider-Man comic books without having to rely on the Amazing Spider-Man films alone. Sony announced that they have appointed a “franchise brain trust" to oversee their expansion of the Spider-Man film franchise, who will ensure the series can survive outside the confines of the Amazing Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer

Peter Parker has always had difficulty trying to prioritise his life. While more often than not successful, he is about to face his biggest challenge yet as he is swamped by enemies such as the formidable Rhino and the quick as lightning Electro. What We Learnt From This Years San Diego Comic-Con: Full Round-Up Of Events

Joss Whedon Clark Gregg Cobie Smulders Vin Diesel Andrew Garfield Marc Webb Jim Carrey

At the Mecca of Geekdom - the San Diego Comic-Con International - the annual Comic-Con kick started in front of an eager audience this Thursday (July 18), with the our-day event already revealing some rather juicy pieces of information about what future films and TV shows have in store. Here's what we know so far, following the first two days of geeky gossip at the annual gathering.

Cobie Smulders
Smulders appeared in the 'Agents' pilot

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of the biggest talking points of the firsts two days, as ABC's Avenger's spin-off was discussed by a panel including Avengers director Joss Whedon and Agents... star Clark Gregg. Gregg discussed the miraculous recovery of his Avengers character Agent Phil Coulson, who was 'killed' by Loki in the first Avengers film only to return in time for his own starring series. Revelers got more than just a frank talk, as they were treated to a world premiere of the pilot episode for Agents..., which featured fellow Avengers star Cobie Smulders and was directed by Whedon. 'The Amazing Spider Man 2' filming continued to get underway in New York on Sunday (May 26th 2013) leaving behind it a trail of destruction on the City streets.

A particularly devastating scene was spotted being filmed, with a mass of crashed, overturned and ablaze vehicles littering the set. Andrew Garfield was in his Spider Man garb as he addressed onlookers from atop a smashed up car through a loudspeaker. He is also seen approaching a young boy in a copycat outfit who, after what looks like a pep talk with Peter Parker's alter-ego, subsequently flees the riotous scene. The scene is the latest of on set sneak peeks that have slowly been accumulating after snaps emerged of 'Django Unchained' star Jamie Foxx showing off his new look as the blue villain Electro and Paul Giamatti from 'Cinderella Man' making a fierce appearance as equally evil baddie The Rhino. Meanwhile, Emma Stone has revealed a MAJOR spoiler about her own character (though we won't reveal it for those who haven't read the prophetic comics).

Is Jamie Foxx Lined Up To Play Electro In Next Spiderman Film?

Jamie Foxx Marc Webb Spider Man

Jamie Foxx could soon be sending shockwaves to audiences after it has emerged that he is to take on the shocking role of supervillain Electro in the planned sequel to this summers electrifying The Amazing Spider-Man (OK, no more puns).

According to Variety, the Oscar winner will star as at least one of the villains in Marc Webb's planned sequel to this year's triumphant return to the screen by Spidey. Although the news is still unconfirmed from movie execs, both Foxx and Webb have given some glaring hints that this is the case. Foxx tweeted on Thursday (Nov. 1) "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well." Meanwhile Webb said at a recent promotional event for The Amazing Spider-Man DVD release,: "I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying! You'll be hearing more on that shortly I'm sure."

Electro (real name Max Dillon) has been a mainstay in the Marvel comics' Spider Man series since his debut in February 1964 and although he has made countless appearances in TV versions of the web slinging adventures, this would mark his first appearance on the silver screen. Dillon gained his powers (control over electricity) when he was struck by lightning while working on a power cable, but don't go trying that yourselves.
