Max Irons and Shiloh Fernandez did not allow their on screen rivalry in 'Red Riding Hood' to affect their Friendship.

Although the two actors play love rivals in the big screen adaptation of the Grimm Brothers' classic fairytale, they insisted they left all their competitiveness behind when they weren't filming and instead tried to help each other improve their performances.

Shiloh said: "I think we both wanted the same thing which is to make a good film and the best way to do that is to talk about what's going on with our characters and not just stand there and look angrily at each other."

While 'Red Riding Hood' was directed by 'Twilight's Catherine Hardwicke the two actors are not worried about having to deal with crazed fans like the stars of the vampire film franchise have to.

Shiloh added to movies.ie: "I don't think we're going to have to because that's a unique thing that has happened and this is a standalone film. I just want to keep making movies and I don't think you can expect or plan for something like that."

Max added: "We hope people just pay attention to the work and it's nice that people enjoy it."
