Pixie Lott surprised a bride and groom by performing on their wedding day.

The 26-year-old singer was recently switching on the Christmas lights in Manchester when she was contacted via social media about a marital ceremony nearby, she decided to ''hotfoot'' over to the bash and sang a cover of Kings of Leon's 2008 hit single 'Use Somebody'.

She told Metro newspaper: ''I was recently in Manchester to switch on the Christmas lights in Albert Square and guests are a wedding in the nearby town hall tweeted us asking if we could surprise the bride and groom with a song. We hotfooted it over the square - my guitarist walked in first and I followed, singing a romantic cover of 'Use Somebody' by Kings of Leon.''

And the couple were overwhelmed but he guest appearance.

The 'Mama Do' hitmaker said: ''They were so happy, the bride cried.''

Meanwhile, Pixie has revealed her ''wish came true'' when she visited the Meiji Shrine in Shibuya, Japan.

She said: ''I love the people in Tokyo - they're the kindest in the world. I also love the Meiji Shrine in Shibuya. You write wishes on little pieces of paper and hang them on the prayer tree. My wish came true - I wished my single 'All About Tonight' would do well there and it was number one for six weeks.''
