Prince’s death has triggered an outpouring of emotion from all around the world but Lily Allen has found herself in trouble from both Prince and Rita Ora fans after she appeared to criticise the former X Factor judge’s memory of her idol.

Rita - who featured on Prince’s last album released in December HITRUN Phase One - wrote a lengthy tribute to the Purple Rain hitmaker remembering the time they spent making music together.

Rita wrote: "This is coming from a place I never knew existed in my heart.

"You were so special to me, your presence the music we created, the dance-offs we used to have, the laughing we shared.

"The funk oozing out of you was uncontrollable. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself but I will miss you forever and always. I love you my dear kind friend."

The singer signed her tribute off with "love your Rita".

However, Lily Allen wasn’t convinced and tweeted at Rita: "Pics or it never happened."

She faced a backlash for this comment with one fan writing: "Lily Allen coming after Rita Ora over Prince is so tacky.

"Rita worked with the man. Let her feel her feels."

Prince died on Thursday April, 21 at his Paisley Park Mansion in Minneapolis after displaying ‘flu-like symptoms’.
