The album will be preceded by the release of their seminal classic, 'House Of Jealous Lovers' on August 25th, which will be available commercially for the first time, since its limited and highly acclaimed vinyl outing last year. Heralded by club kids, loved by rock fans and embraced by the international music community, the Rapture have found favour from DJ Hell to the Sex Pistols, from Beck to Daft Punk. Their sound is a hybrid of a classic rock'n'roll Molotov, angular guitars and punk rushes, twisted funk and bass pounding electronic experimentalism. The Rapture are a vital, fresh and the only really unique genre-bending force in 2003. The release of 'House ' will follow a highly limited edition 12" version of album standout 'Killing.'
The album 'Echoes' features the familiar sounds of 'House Of Jealous Lovers', and 'Olio', alongside a selection of new anthems in the making, like the pounding house explosion of 'I Need Your Love', the throbbing disco funk of 'Sister Saviour', or the stripped down crackled beauty of 'Open Up Your Heart.' Produced and recorded at Plantain Studios, NYC with the highly regarded DFA production team of Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy, 'Echoes' has already become one of the most talked about debut albums in years.
Following a set of sell-out shows earlier this year across the UK and America, The Rapture return to the UK this summer, as part of a hefty European tour schedule with several key festival appearances and a special low-key London show, before returning later in the year for a full tour.
