Veteran crooner Tony Christie released the top selling single of 2005 in the UK after (IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO spent eight weeks at number one.
Christie sold 1.1 million copies of his charity single, with THAT'S MY GOAL recorded by The X Factor talent show winner Shayne Ward claiming second spot with 874,000 sales in just 11 days in December to take the Christmas number one.
Crazy Frog's AXEL F - the first ringtone to top the UK singles chart - came third, closely followed by James Blunt's YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL and McFly's All About You.
Blunt scored the best-selling album of 2005 with his debut disc Back To Bedlam notching up 2.4 million sales - pushing Coldplay's third LP X+Y into second place with two million units shifted.
ROBBIE WILLIAMS' INTENSIVE CARE was the third highest selling long-player, followed by KAISER CHIEFS' EMPLOYMENT and DEMON DAYS by Gorillaz.
