There's life after Breaking Bad, we promise
The end of Breaking Bad is near; season five part two has finally started, and will wrap up after seven more episodes on September 27th. But don’t be too sad, we know it’ll be a thrill-ride, and once it’s over, there’s plenty more to look forward to.
Anna Gunn, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul
The casting choice of Bryan Cranston as Walter White was a stroke of genius. His previous work as Hal in Malcolm in The Middle had some people confused, but eventually his reputation added to his transformation from goofy work-a-day father to drug lynchpin; that and his Emmy award-winning performances.
But even more startling has been Aaron Paul’s rise to prominence. His and Cranston’s on-screen chemistry as Jesse Pinkman and Mr. White are a huge part of Breaking Bad’s success, and now that AMC’s behemoth meth drama is tying up the loose ends, Paul’s career seems limitless.
He’s already appeared in The Simpsons, which is basically the pinnacle for all actors, but there’s more, too. He’s set to star in Need for Speed, the film adaptation of the popular video game series. Paul is playing the lead role: Tobey Marshall. It’s safe to say we’ll be seeing a lot more from the 33-year-old actor who already has cult status under his belt.
The iconic Breaking Bad RV
Something else to look forward to is a possible spin-off series featuring Walt and Jesse’s lawyer, Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). His cocky wit, underlined by his intensive knowledge of the law – specifically how to use it to his advantage – has made him one of the most popular characters in the show. "It's not a done deal yet, but it's definitely something we're full speed ahead on trying to get going," Gilligan said of the spin off (The Wrap).
For now, though, we’re set for another seven weeks of exhilarating Breaking Bad. How will Walt sort his current problem out as he continues to fight the fires ignited by his escapades over the past five years? "The final 8 [episodes] is just such a violent sprint to the finish line. Each season we get progressively darker and darker, and this final season is hands down the darkest one yet," Paul explained of the last episodes (Reddit). "It's just so raw and it doesn't allow the audience to breathe because we don't have time to do that."
