Abigail Breslin has accused Aaron Eckhart of being "aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional" towards her.
The 27-year-old actress privately claimed she was afraid to be alone with her 'Classified' co-star, and though her allegations were made privately, they have now been revealed as part of a breach of contract lawsuit from Dream Team Studios and WM Holdings, the producers of the movie, who have accused the 'Little Miss Sunshine' star of costing the project $80,000 with her "specious" accusations.
Documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday (02.11.23) and obtained by Rolling Stone state: “During the course of production, the entire production almost ground to a halt when Breslin advised the production of Eckhart’s (allegedly) aggressive, demeaning, and unprofessional behavior which she insisted placed her at various times in peril."
The complaint stated the producers still don't know if Abigail confronted her co-star about the alleged abuse but were aware she wrote a letter to the Screen Actors Guild (SAD) “setting forth her fears and blasting Mr. Eckhart’s behaviour.”
It continued: “In order for the production to continue…Breslin refused to be alone in several scenes with Eckhart, and costly accommodations had to be made."
As a result, the plaintiffs are concerned about potential "delivery issues" with the film because it has "few scenes" which features the two stars together.
They also alleged the film's on-set producer, identified as“Mr. Georgiev,” carried out a "detailed" investigation and submitted a report that found “no evidence in support of Breslin’s wild, hysterical and imaginary allegations against Eckhart.”
The producers also accused the actress of having “demanded the payment of $35,000 as a condition” of signing her final agreement, which is required for the film to be released and for the team to to claim tax credits in Malta.
They alleged Abigail of having "completely imperiled the financial wellbeing of the production, including concluding distribution agreements and delivering under the terms of existing distribution agreements” because of her "refusal" to sign and are seeking $80,000 in real damages and further punitive damages.
A representative for Aaron, 55, has yet to comment, while Abigail's spokesperson said she is “not aware of any action filed against her and has not been served with any legal notice.”
They added: "Ms. Breslin categorically denies all contended allegations and unequivocally stands by her statement which she provided confidentially to SAG.”
