Alex Reid is releasing a tell-all book about his life - and has posed as his alter ego Roxanne for the cover.

The former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner has finished his autobiography 'Alex Reid Exposed', which will reveal explosive details of his life with ex-wife Katie Price and his experiences of fame.

Alex completed a photo shoot for the tantalising tome on Thursday (15.10.15) as Roxanne and in the book he will reveal how he first realised he had a penchant for cross-dressing and the journey he went on to create the female character.

BANG Showbiz has obtained a behind-the-scenes photo from the shoot of Alex dressed in a sparkly floor-length blue dress.

Revealing details of the autobiography - which is set to be released before Christmas - a source said: ''The book will give a warts and all account of Alex's life from childhood until the end of his marriage with Katie. A significant amount of the book is dedicated to the real Roxanne, who she is and how she came about. It will also detail how Alex created her, not Katie.''

Alex, 40, has been working on the book for months and getting the words down about his short-lived marriage to Katie, 37, has been a ''cathartic experience'' for him.

Alex first started dating Katie in June 2009, shortly after she split from ex-husband Peter Andre.

They went on to get married in Las Vegas in February 2010 before the former glamour model announced they had split in January 2011 with their divorce being finalised later that year.

Since their separation, Katie - who is now wed to Kieran Hayler - has often mocked Alex's penchant for cross-dressing and blamed his female alter ego for playing a major part in their break-up.

Earlier this week, Alex took to Twitter to reveal he was set to do the ''most important photo shoot'' of his life.
