Amanda Bynes' parents are tracking her movements via GPS.
The troubled actress' mother Lynn Bynes - who is legally in charge of the 'She's The Man' star's personal and professional affairs - has set up an account with car service Uber in order to give her independence, but can also keep track of where she is going via the mobile app.
A source told RadarOnline.com: ''Amanda's mom, Lynn, set up the Uber car service on her daughter's cell phone.
''Uber can take Amanda anywhere she needs to go and it's paid for out of Amanda's estate, since her mom has conservatorship.
''This allows Amanda to have independence. But at the same time her parents can track where she goes.''
Though Lynn and her husband Rick are Amanda's conservators, they are planning to leave California soon as they feel they have ''done all they can'' for their daughter, who has been living in a hotel.
The source said: ''Amanda's parents are getting ready to move back to Texas. They had only come out to California after Amanda started exhibiting serious problems and they feel they've done all they can.''
Prior to moving to the hotel, the 'Easy A' star - who was released from a psychiatric hospital in October - had been staying with various friends and was accused of trashing an apartment belonging to her hair stylist and two other women.
She was said to have caused $1,500 worth of damage to the property after allegedly burning cigarette holes in the carpets and splashing blue hair dye on the carpets and porcelain sinks.
The mother of one of the residents had signed the lease so contacted Amanda's parents asking them to foot the bill.
However, Rick and Lynn reportedly refused, saying the women knew their daughter was unstable when they allowed her to stay against their wishes, so they felt they had taken on the risk.
