"We did this movie thinking it was an intelligent, witty little comedy," says Brittany Snow, who plays Chloe. "We had no idea of the attention it would grab. We knew there was a special connection we all shared. But the lightning in a bottle, I don't think that's something you can predict."

Jimmy Fallon and his house band the Roots were joined by legendary diva Darlene Love and Anna Kendrick in a rendition of the festive number 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' using only classroom instruments. It's still one of the best segments on 'The Tonight Show'.

Who knew a casio keyboard, bongos, shakers, a xylophone and sleigh bells could come together to create such a beautiful version of this 1963 Christmas hit? It's definitely better than what you did in elementary school that's for sure, and Anna Kendrick looked thrilled to be singing along with such a stand-out voice from the iconic album 'A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records'.

Pitch Perfect 3 Trailer

It has been a few years since the Barden Bellas graduated from college, and while they have largely managed to stay in touch, they have not performed together at musical World Championships for a very long time. Needless to say, with their various career ventures not going as well as they had hoped and the media still keeping a close eye on them and willing them to fail, they are missing their beloved a cappella sing-a-longs a lot right now.

Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) has quit her job out of boredom, Flo Fuentes (Chrissie Fit) is serving on a city juice stall, Chloe Beale (Brittany Snow) is struggling to get into vet school and Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) is now a not so popular impersonator called Fat Amy Winehouse. But maybe they can give their musical passions a boost with a new kind of show...

Aubrey Posen (Anna Camp) has an idea of trying to obtain an invite to perform at a competition show in Europe set up by the United Service Organizations (USO) in support of the US Army soldiers. It's not like they have anything else to do at the moment so the group are all for it. However, armed only with their voices, they have quite the competition as many of their rivals are bands with actual instruments.

Stephen Merchant Loved Cracking Lisa Kudrow Up

In terms of best buds in the movie scene, American star Lisa Kudrow and English comedian Stephen Merchant don’t necessarily seem on the surface like natural friends – but the pair of them got on like a house on fire on the set of new comedy Table 19.

The Accountant Review

OK

While this slick dramatic thriller plays with some intriguing ideas and themes, it never actually breaks the surface, relying on silly plotting and simplistic moralising. It also uses autism as little more than a plot point. Still, it's sharply shot and edited to create plenty of interest, with comical asides and some intense action. So it's entertaining even if it's both preposterous and shallow.

It centres on Christian (Ben Affleck), a mild-mannered autistic accountant with a big secret: he's not only cooking the books for top gangsters around the world, but he's also an efficient killer. In his day job, he's hired by Lamar (John Lithgow) and his sister Rita (Smart) to locate an anomaly in their robotics company's books. Working with company accountant Dana (Anna Kendrick), Christian crunches the numbers and finds more than anyone expected. Meanwhile, Federal Agent Ray (J.K. Simmons) wants catch this mythical mob accountant-killer before he retires, so he coerces analyst Marybeth (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) into tracking him down. But just as they close in on Christian, so does hyperactive hitman Brax (Jon Bernthal).

The script by Bill Dubuque (The Judge) never even remotely holds water. Christian's autism provides some intriguing flashbacks, which build throughout the movie to a climactic moment, as his militaristic father cruelly treats his condition by sending him to Karate Kid-style training in Indonesia with his silently annoyed little brother. Where a real autistic child would revert into the horror of all of that, Christian emerges as adeptly skilled at engaging with everyone he meets and also able to fight more efficiently than experienced military commandos, whom he kills by the dozen as Brax and his army surround him. No, it makes absolutely no sense, but as a movie it's a rather amusing waste of time.

Trolls Review

Excellent

Almost pathologically buoyant, this brightly colourful animated comedy is so cheeky that it's impossible to dislike. The plot may be thin, and the wackiness a bit too full-on, but every moment is packed with smart verbal and visual jokes. This rapid-fire energy keeps us laughing all the way through, while the lively song score has us humming along and wishing we could get up there and dance.

It's set in a garish fantasy world in which sweetly happy trolls are locked in a mortal battle with gloomy bergen who think the only way they can achieve happiness is to eat a troll. It's been 20 years since the trolls escaped to form a secret forest community, so they throw a party to celebrate. Led by Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the festivities feature so much music, glitter and hugging that the bergen's Chef (Christine Baranski) spots their location. The paranoid troll Branch (Justin Timberlake) had warned that this might happen, and sure enough Chef sweeps in and grabs a handful of trolls to take back to bergen King Gristle (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Feeling responsible, Poppy sets out on a quest to rescue them, and Branch grudgingly accompanies her. They also get help from the lovelorn bergen scullery maid Bridget (Zooey Deschanel).

There isn't a moment in this story that carries even a hint of actual suspense, but the action scenes are still exhilaratingly madcap, and the darker moments along the way generate proper emotion. Thankfully, the lesson is so painfully obvious (you don't need to eat a troll to be happy!) that the filmmakers don't bother hammering it in. Instead, they fill every scene with deranged wit, ridiculous gags and lively character detail.

Table 19 Trailer

Whilst Eloise was in a relationship with Francie's brother, they were the best of friends; they were so close that Francie asked Eloise to be the Maid Of Honour at her wedding to her fiancé Doug. When Eloise is dumped (via text) by her boyfriend she loses the friendship of Francie too and finds herself being removed from the coveted role of Maid Of Honour.

The wedding date draws closer and Eloise battles with the decision as to if she should go to Francie's big day or not - even RSVPing with a scribbled out 'not attending' box. Finally the day arrives and Eloise instantly becomes regretful about attending.

With no plus one to keep her company and the only people she knows quite clearly distancing themselves from Eloise, she feels very alone and the day suddenly becomes one that she must 'just get through'. As their table places are assigned she sees that she's at the back of the room on table 19 along with all the other ragtag guests.

Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates Trailer

Mike and Dave are two brothers who can't help but compete with one another. They're best friends and do everything together, but when it comes to playing a lifelong game of one-upmanship they're both in it to win it. When their sister announces that she's marrying her partner in Hawaii, Mike & Dave's mum and dad are instantly horrified by the possible antics their sons could get up to.

In a bid to calm their potential actions, it's suggested to the boys that they both bring a respectable date to the wedding. Someone they can present to their families and show a completely different - and more mature - side to their personality.

Alice and Tatiana are two girls who could actually rival the brothers and any of their past behaviour, who see Mike & Dave on TV talking about their search for a partner and decide that they're just the girls to accompany the boys to the island wedding.  Their plan is successful but Mike and Dave soon figure out that there's more to the girls than they first thought.

Justin Timberlake To Turn Troll Doll

Justin Timberlake Anna Kendrick

There were created in the 1960s, came back out for a period of time in the 1970s and 1990s and have consequently delighted many a former child with their colourful hair and funny faces. Troll dolls were the must-have for a lot of children back in the day, whether you had a full-size doll or a small stick-on-the-end-of-your-pencil kind. Now they’re making yet another comeback - but this time in the form of Justin Timberlake.

Justin TimberlakeHe might not look much like a troll yet but Justin Timberlake will nevertheless appear in new musical movie, Trolls

That’s right, JT will be lending his voice to new animated musical comedy, Trolls, and will play survivalist Branch, who has been described as hiding "his surprising true colours".

Various Artists - Pitch Perfect 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Album Review

After the success of the first 'Pitch Perfect' and, more specifically, the 'Cup' song, the soundtrack for the sequel has a lot to live up to. However, there is a thing as trying to be too clever and here is a perfect example.

Various Artists - Pitch Perfect 2 Soundtrack Album Review

By trying to cram even more songs into each a cappella mash-up, some tracks just don't work without the visual aid of the movie and it becomes a race to recognize just what has been used. Two/three lines and it is on to the next song. 'Riff Off' starts off enjoyable, with a cover of 'Thong Song', but then goes through a circle of booty-complimenting tracks at a dizzying speed where it confuses and loses itself. A better example of a mash-up would be The Barden Bella's 'World Championship Finale' as you can clearly hear each tune used throughout.

The song that leads the entire soundtrack - also the lead single - is Jessie J's 'Flashlight' written by Sam Smith and Sia. By far the most memorable, it is a highlight to the album and is what will keep people coming back to listen to it. An inspirational ballad, it is by far one of Jessie J's best singles, but as the success of Anna Kendrick and 'Cups' showed, a big star isn't always needed to get radio play time. There is also a surprise performance from Snoop Dogg and Anna Kendrick, which is a nice way to break up the a cappella sound of the album. The other original track is 'Crazy Youngsters' performed by Ester Dean, which adds a modern and more 'pop' sound to the soundtrack. These 3 tracks are undeniably stand-out numbers in an otherwise very predictable album.
