Opening up about her fears over getting pregnant again, expectant mum Ashley Tisdale has admitted she vowed never to have a second baby.
Pregnant mum-of-one Ashley Tisdale has admitted she vowed never to have a second baby.
The ‘High School Musical’ actress and singer, 38, who has three-year-old daughter Jupiter with her husband Christopher French, announced on Tuesday (26.03.24) they are expecting their second baby, by posting about the news on Instagram alongside a series of images of her showing off her growing baby bump.
She has now said in a video posted on her TikTok she was nervous about becoming a mum again, confessing: “After I had Jupiter, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this again.’
“I think it was like, physically really hard on me. "t was just like, not for me the most amazing experience.”
But she added about now being happy she is having a son: “I think I started to think about it in that way, that like what a blessing it is to be able to have this cute little baby come into the world.
“When I think about it, do I see Ju-Ju as like, an only child?
“I’m excited and Jupiter’s excited.
“She keeps telling everybody the big news – that she’s going to be a big sister. “I was very nervous though and had a lot of fear in the beginning, being like ‘Oh my gosh can I do this again? Can I physically do this again? Can I mentally do this again?’
“I think I obviously got over that fear. I suffered with postpartum depression the first time and so that definitely scared me, thinking about, oh having another one, like just going through that again.”
Ashley also shared her joy that three-year-old Jupiter is highly social and loves other kids.
She added: “Definitely there was something in me that was like, I feel like there’s another little sibling for her.
“So (Christopher and I) started to seriously talk about it.
“(We) both were just like, we feel like there should be a little sibling for her – definitely kind of like surrendered to the whole thing and just put it out there.”
Ashley added her doctor has told her having a second child may be easier on her body than the first.
She said: “My doctor said that it’s interesting that on the second, your hormones just adjust so much faster.
Ashley added about the trauma of her first pregnancy: “It wasn’t so much that I was depressed, I just had a lot of anxiety.”
Announcing her baby news to fans on Tuesday, Ashley captioned the images of her displaying her baby bump – along with an image of her holding Jupiter’s hand: “We can’t wait to meet you.”
