Tell us this isn't an April Fool...
If a horde of zombies attacked your town, who would you have thought would be most likely to come to your rescue? The Backstreet Boys probably don't make it on to your list, but this Spring such unlikely heroes will be saving the world from the undead in 'Dead 7'.

From the network that brought us 'Sharknado' and 'Star Runners', Syfy will be launching 'Dead 7' this April featuring a number of familiar faces from a variety of 90s boybands including Backstreet Boys, *Nsync, 98 Degrees and O-Town. It's a zombie Western original movie starring Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter as well as his wife Lauren Kitt-Carter, which sees an unlikely hero named Jack band together the with the local outlaws to rid their small town of a deadly plague of brain-eating, re-animated corpses.

Carter's bandmates AJ McLean and Howie Dorough have also made it into the cast, with Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick from *NSYNC, as well as the re-united O-Town bandmembers Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood and Dan Miller.

'Reno 911!' actress Carrie Keagan also brings her previous zombie experience to the floor from 2008's 'Dance of the Dead', and 'MadTV''s Debra Wilson will play a character called Apocolypta (amusing seeing as she's also finished work on the movie 'Living Room Coffin' in which her character is called Val Pocalypse). Frenchie Davis from 2011's 'The Voice' returns to acting as Madame Jezebel, and we'll also see 90s Ecuadorian one-hit wonder Gerardo Mejía ('Rico Suave'), Art Alexakis from Everclear and Cuban singer Jon Secada.

'Dead 7' is the first screenwriting project from Nick Carter with which he was aided by Sawyer Perry, and it has been directed by Danny Roew who did 'Shotgun Wedding' and the US version of 'Big Brother'.
Of course, 'Dead 7' is scheduled to premiere on April 1st, which means that it could very well be too good to be true. So be prepared to be met with 'April Fools!' when you switch over to Syfy next week.
