Record industry mogul Clive Davis and Billy Joel's early backing band are to be inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.

The music mogul, Joel's early touring group, stage star Patti LuPone, and veteran concert promoter Ron Delsener will be among the inductees at this year's (14) ceremony in October.

The event, in Huntington on Long Island, New York, will also feature a special posthumous tribute to famed songwriter Gerry Goffin, who died in June (14). It is due to take place on 23 October (14).

Previous inductees include Tony Bennett, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand.
