Daft Punk are reportedly set to headline Glastonbury Festival next year.

The French electronic music duo - which is made up of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter - are rumoured to helm the annual music extravaganza, which will take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, in 2017.

Although the group have not confirmed this, there is growing speculation they band will perform because traditionally they perform live every 10 years and they will be taking a one-year hiatus in 2018.

And festival organiser's Michael and Emily Davis are pitting Daft Punk at the top of their wish list to follow in the footsteps of Adele and Beyoncé who have previously graced the Pyramid Stage, as it will be the first time they will take to the stage since their 1997 headline slot.

Meanwhile, The Stone Roses are also in talks to headline the event after they announced three UK shows in June next year, which means they will be in the country at the same time as the weekend festival.

Although the 'I Wanna be adored' hitmakers have confirmed they will play at Belfast's SSE Arena, Glasgow's Hampden Park and London's Wembley Stadium, there is growing talks there will be a full UK tour as well, which has yet to be secured.
