Former model Jodie Kidd has revealed she’s turned down a presenting job on the new series of ‘Top Gear’ saying that she feared the gig would ‘take over her soul’. Kidd had been the favourite to join Chris Evans and become the show’s first female presenter but now it seems Zoe Ball could be joining the line-up instead.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Kidd confirmed a woman would definitely be joining the new ‘Top Gear’ but added that it will not be her. “Am I doing it? I am not," she told the newspaper. “I feel greatly honoured that people think I could possibly be good enough to fill those shoes, especially as a woman.”

The BBC has approached Jodie Kidd, Philip Glenister and Guy Martin to front a new "dream team" presenting line up for Top Gear. Corporation chiefs are looking to overhaul the series after the sacking of Jeremy Clarkson. James May and Richard Hammond are unlikely to return.

According to the Sunday Express, the BBC is in talks with the former model Kidd, Life on Mars and noted petrol-head Philip Glenister and Channel 4's Guy Martin to front a new line-up.
