The one-time reality star has gone from high living to living in a cabin and waiting on tables to get by.
Jon Gosselin once had it all, fame, fortune, a devoted wife, his own reality series on TLC and a co-writing credit on a New York Times bestseller. Life has changed drastically for the one-time star of Jon & Kate Plus 8, as the days of champagne popping are now only reserved for the customers he serves in his new surroundings. But just how did he get to this position in the first place?
Jon Gosselin has fallen almightily.
Having found fame through his eight children on the hit TLC show - now, Kate Plus 8 - alongside his ex-wife, Kate, Jon has swapped red carpets for red wine pouring, being forced into working in the service industry in order to make ends meet. His ex-wife and their many children may still live in comfort at their $1.3 million Pennsylvania home, whilst Jon is living alone in a cabin in the woods.
Blaming his almighty fall from fortune on his arduous divorce from Kate in 2009, Jon was spoken to for an Entertainment Tonight special, in which he revealed that his fame ended up being a hindrance on him when it came to finding work. He went on to say that after initially accepting his job as a waiter at the Black Dog, he felt apprehensive, but soon came to terms with being recognised whilst he waiting on tables, admitting, he had to take the job to make ends meet, after hitting rock bottom "like 20 times."
Kate is suing her ex-husband for hacking into her computer and phone.
"At first I was nervous because I was like, 'How are people going to react?'" the 36-year-old admitted. "But then I'm thinking, 'Well, it's fun and I get to talk to people.' And they technically already know me … they're like, 'Are you the guy?' I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm the guy.'"
In spite of being where he is now, Gosselin was keen to point out that he isn't struggling with his finances. Despite living alone with no TV or internet, Gosselin consistently insisted that money is not an issue and he isn't struggling to meet ends meet. This is just as well, because he will be facing even further financial woes should his court case against his ex-wife go against him. Jon is being sued by the mother of his eight children for allegedly hacking into her computer and phone in order to steal material from her tell-all 2012 publication Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World.
Whether he's telling the truth or living in denial, things have changed drastically for Jon Gosselin to say the least. But in spite of all this, he insists that he has no regrets. He said, "I don't regret anything. You learn from your mistakes. That's what builds you to who you are today."
His fall from grace could easily be turned into a reality show.
