Former reality TV personality Kate Gosselin has accused her ex-husband Jon Gosselin of accessing her email account and stealing her hard drive to obtain private information for a tell-all book he was writing. The book, Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World, was penned by Robert Hoffman, a tabloid writer and friend of Jon, but was quickly pulled from shelves, according to the lawsuit, via the Washington Post.

The pair have been divorced since 2009. They first gained notoriety with their TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which followed their lives with twins and sextuplets and ran for five seasons between 2006 and 2011. After the divorce, the final two seasons were renamed to simply Kate Plus 8. Now, Kate Gosselin’s lawyer is claiming that Ms Gosselin reputation was damaged and the information was illegally obtained.

If the lawsuit moves forward, Gosselin could be in some deep legal trouble.

“Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate,” said her lawyer A. Jordan Rushie. “It’s damaged her reputation.”

The lawsuit, which actually taps into some high-profile topics of 2013, accuses the former IT professional of wiretapping, identity theft and invasion of privacy. This is only the latest in a series of legal clashes between the former spouses. So far, the amount of damages Kate Gosselin is claiming has not been announced.
