Star Lauren Graham made the announcement during an appearance on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
The much anticipated Netflix revival of ‘Gilmore Girls’ suddenly feels a lot more real, as the show’s title and first poster have finally be revealed. Lauren Graham, who played mom Lorelai on the much loved series, revealed the reboot’s title on the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show', while also giving us our first real idea of what’s in store.
Lauren Graham will be back as Lorelai Gilmore on Netflix.
Speaking to DeGeneres Graham said: “I feel so lucky to get to [revisit Gilmore Girls], but it's also been so bizarre because I open the door and we're across the street from you, which wasn't the case before.”
“The set is the same, but we're in a different place. It's like it was yesterday, but also it was not yesterday." The series, which originally aired on the The WB, ran for seven seasons, until finally ending on the CW network in 2007.
"I'm here to tell you the title," Graham then told DeGeneres. "I can tell you the title for the first time! It's four 90-minute episodes and they're Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall, so it's called 'Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life'.”
The first poster for the upcoming series was also revealed and it features one of the show’s most central characters, a cup of coffee and reads: 'Live More. Laugh More. Eat More. Talk More. Gilmore'.
The show was first confirmed to be coming back in January when Netflix and original showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino revealed the reboot was officially happening. Alongside Graham, her TV daughter Alexis Bledel will also be back, as will Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson. Melissa McCarthy will also make an appearance, as Lorelai’s best friend Sookie St. James.
