Fifi Geldof, the eldest sister of the late Peaches Geldof, has hit out at an unnamed social media user who had described her sister’s use of heroin as “selfish”.

The 31-year-old posted her reaction on her Instagram page, which expressed her anger at how viciously some had reacted to Peaches’ death back in April, in her opinion. A site user had branded Peaches “selfish to use drugs in front of them [her children]”.

An inquest during the week heard how police found 0.24 ounces (6.9 grams) of heroin in a cupboard over a bedroom door in the family home in Kent. The heroin had an unusually high purity level, around 61% as opposed to the normal 26% according to police, and was worth between £350 and £550.

It also heard that the 25-year-old had been using the heroin substitution drug methadone in the two and a half years leading up to her death, and that she had relapsed back on to the drug early in 2014. Testimony from Peaches’ husband Tom Cohen, ex-lead singer of London goth-rock group SCUM, indicated concerns that Peaches may have lied about weekly drug tests coming back clean in the immediate run-up to the tragedy, according to Sky News.
