Carol Burnett has no plans to retire.
The 91-year-old comedienne has been active in Hollywood for almost 70 years and is currently starring in Apple+ series 'Palm Royale' alongside Kristen Wigg and Ricky Martin but admitted as she was honoured with a Hand and Footprint Ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday (20.04.24) that she wants to stay in the business as long as she is having a good time.
She told Fox News Digital: "Well, as long as it's going to be fun. I'm in it for fun, All they had to do [for my latest role] was say who was in it and I said, ‘I’m there.' I don't care what you want me to do"
The esteemed actress became known for her starring in her self-titled sketch show in the late 1960s and is also known to family film audiences for her role as Miss Hannigan in the 1982 musical 'Annie' alongside Albert Finney.
Over the course of her career, she has earned numerous Emmy Awards and Golden Globes as well as two Tony Awards for her work on Broadway.
She now joins the likes of screen legends Judy Garland and Marilyn Monroe as well as other famous faces like 'Harry Potter' stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as well as music icons like as Cher and Cyndi Lauper to have been honoured with an imprint ceremony at the famous tourist attraction.
Asked what she would like her legacy to be, she admitted that it was just that she would want to be remembered for cheering up those who needed it.
She told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I get fan mail and what touches me the most is when somebody says, 'When I was down... your show cheered me up.' That would be the legacy I'd want!"
