The return of Kent's Hop Farm Music Festival was an expectedly diverse affair, with day three (July 6th 2014) mixing it up with an array of genres from folk to hip hop.

For all the old school Hop Farm revellers, there was plenty to enjoy with the likes of rhythm and blues veteran Billy Ocean, rockney pioneers Chas & Dave, Soft Cell frontman Marc Almond and 2 Tone ska from Birmingham's The Beat. Also, Joy Division's Peter Hook returned to the festival with his latest project Peter Hook & The Light.

It wasn't just a local gig either: plenty of overseas acts hit the Farm on Sunday. They included Texas folk group Midlake and Atlanta collective Arrested Development, who turned the event irresistably into the Hip Hop Farm Festival (Sorry, folks). The alternative rap band were one of the biggest of their kind during their 90s reign; their debut album '3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of...' going multi-Platinum on its release. And they're still going strong, dropping their last album 'Standing At The Crossroads' in 2012.

Robert Vincent - The Passage

Liverpudlian singer/ songwriter Robert Vincent is here with the video for his touching new single 'The Passage' set for release on April 15th 2013 through DB Industries and taken from his recently released debut album 'Life In Easy Steps'.

The video features the bespectacled artist playing his acoustic guitar and singing alone at a bandstand, by a window at home and on stage. We also see him travelling in his car, eating by himself at an eatery and signing autographs backstage at one of his gigs among other everyday things for Vincent. It serves to demonstrate the song lyrics which explore the notion of making memories; it's an upbeat number with a distinctive country vibe about it though with a very pop vocal accompaniment. Vincent has explained that he's now starting to view much of his past in a positive light, including things that he would rather forget. 'It has been easy to forget certain parts of my past because I think they have been harmful, but then I realise that those very memories have taught me too', he says. 'It's easy to hang onto them in a bad way and inflict those things onto others.'

He has also explained that his album was very much based on his own life, were it to have had 'easy steps'. He continues to tour and promote his album throughout 2013, with dates in the UK spanning up 'til May.
