While 'American Psycho' didn't go down so well on Broadway last week, it seems latest show 'Waitress' has had a little more success with media outlets everywhere praising its vibrancy, the epic soundtrack by Grammy nominated singer Sara Bareilles, its heart and stellar acting performances.

It didn't seem like Jessie Nelson's re-working of the 2007 movie of the same name could do any wrong upon its opening at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on Broadway yesterday (April 24th 2016). Indeed, with a stunning score by Sara Bareilles and an incredible leading performance from the Tony award-winning Jessie Mueller as pie-making extraordinnaire Jenna, it was already a recipe for success.

Katy Perry is no stranger to controversy, but she has managed to stay away from legal copyright disputes so far. Well, not anymore. The singer is being sued over her catchy single Dark Horse, which the plaintiffs claim replicated their 2006 song Joyful Noise. But that’s not even the strangest part of this story.

Katy Perry used a smoke machine and mechanical horse in one performance.

The four musicians suing Perry are a Christian rock band and claim that the pop songstress not only used their original tune, but that she also sullied it with “witchcraft, paganism, black magic and Illuminati imagery”. This case isn’t Perry’s first brush with plagiarism accusations – last year, she came under fire for the apparent similarities between her single Roar and Sara Bareilles’ Brave.

The Grammy Awards are known as the biggest night in music, the music industry equivalent to the Oscars. Unlike the Oscars, however, the Grammys are much more accepting of newcommers and in fact, the award show airing this Sunday will feature plenty of debutants, competing with seasoned artists. So with that in mind, it’s about time for everyone to place their bets. Let’s see who the favorites are to sweep this year’s Grammys.

With seven nominations, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are expected to sweep the awards this year.

Record of the Year is one of the biggest categories at the award show. Out of the five nominees, Daft Punk’s Get Lucky seems like a no-brainer, but Lorde’s Royals, the unpredictable success of 2013 could come in and sweep this up last minute.

Pop star Katy Perry was the jewel in the crown at the Hollywood Bowl's All-Star benefit on Wednesday (23rd Oct.) where she performed music at the end of a night that also saw performances from Ellie Goulding, Sara Bareilles, Kacey Musgraves and Tegan and Sara. Together, all acts were united in their goals to raise awareness about breast cancer for the support charity, Young Survival Coalition.

"We're survivors - that's why we're here," Perry told the teeming crowd during her headlining set. However, Perry's set was framed as Katy Perry's We Can Survive which was a valuable exercise in promotion for her just-released album, Prism. In interviews for her new album, Perry has continually referenced events in her life, such as her divorce from comedian Russell Brand, that inspired her to come back with an empowering survival album about how each tough event has only made her come back stronger.
