Sylvester Stallone has warned fellow actors to avoid doing their own stunts after his body was "never physically the same" following 'The Expendables'.

The 77-year-old action movie legend was badly injured while shooting a scene with wrestler "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the 2010 motion picture, and he has "never recovered" fully.

Speaking on his reality show 'The Family Stallone', he said: "I did stupid stuff. I was directing 'Expendables' and like an idiot I’m doing take ten, take whatever, and I remember one slam and I could actually feel one ‘bang’.

"Steve knew. I never recovered from 'Expendables 1'.

“After that film, it was never physically the same.

"I’ve warned people - don’t do your own stunts."

Sylvester has undergone seven back operations following the incident, but joked he would be the perfect person to play fictional character Quasimodo, who was born with a hunchback, in a remake of movie 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'.

He added: "If they ever need a remake of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, I’m ready."

Sylvester's wife Jennifer Flavin, 55, admitted it is "very scary" for their family when he undergoes a back operation.

She explained: "Sly tries to mask the pain, pretending like it didn’t happen. He doesn’t like people to know he’s had so many back surgeries.

"It’s very scary for our family every time Sly has to go through surgery, because you never know ... no one knows."

The 'Rocky' star previously insisted he only feels his age because he's been injured so many times.

Speaking in 2022, he told The Hollywood Reporter: "The older I get the more I try to embrace my inner kid.

"The only way I really feel my age is because I’ve had so many injuries."
