Zooey Deschanel has secretly married Jacob Pechenik.

News broke on Monday (03.08.15) that the couple had become parents to a baby girl and in a statement released by their representative confirming the news it was revealed the loved-up pair had tied the knot.

The statement read: ''I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband Jacob Pechenik are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl.''

No other details are yet to be revealed about the tot such as her name or birth weight and no other information has been released regarding the couple's top secret wedding.

However, it has been confirmed that Jacob proposed to Zooey on Catalina Island on January 17, which was the 'Failure To Launch' star's 35th birthday.

This is Zooey's second marriage. She was previously wed to Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard but divorced him in 2012.

Zooey and Jacob didn't find out the sex of their baby while she was expecting because they wanted it to be a ''surprise''.

She said: ''We are gonna be surprised. It's more fun!''
