RuPaul Makes Hilarious Cameo In Netflix #Girlboss Trailer

Netflix launch its new original series '#Girlboss' starring Britt Robertson.

The real story of fashion mogul Sophia Amoruso comes to Netflix in the form of '#Girlboss'; the series adaptation of the best-selling autobiography of the same name. The new trailer has arrived, and even sees drag queen superstar RuPaul make a cameo appearance.

Loosely based on the real life experiences of clothing entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso, who foundered the shopping site Nasty Gal at the age of just 27, '#Girlboss' is a brand new Netflix comedy starring 'The Space Between Us' actress Britt Robertson. It's inspired by her 2014 memoirs, which was a New York Times best-seller upon its publication.

Britt Robertson Had To Learn Lots Of New Talents For 'The Space Between Us'

The actress swore she'd never sing in a movie.

'The Space Between Us' might not seem like a big action movie that involved a lot of training for the actors, but Britt Robertson sure had to learn a lot of new skills for her role as earthling Tulsa. Though while the actress found the prospect 'terrifying', she was certainly happy to get out of her comfort zone.

Britt's character Tulsa was all about taking her Mars-born friend Gardner on his first Earth adventure, discovering the world in which his parents and ancestors lived. Of course, that meant setting up a bunch of seemingly regular experiences that he might not have encountered in his Mars colony. And director Peter Chelsom put a lot of that weight on Britt.

The Space Between Us Review

OK

While the premise of this movie makes it look like a sci-fi adventure, the truth is that it's actually a young adult romance, like The Fault in Our Stars with E.T. overtones. The film may be watchable, but the script simply never bothers to develop anything. The science is wobbly, the romance is paper-thin, the sentimentality is off the charts, and the cheesy dialogue would completely defeat a less experienced cast.

It opens with an extended prologue about the first manned mission to Mars and how, after the team arrives, Elliot (Asa Butterfield) was born to an astronaut who died in childbirth. Earth-based mission director Nathaniel (Gary Oldman) decides to keep his existence a secret, so he's raised by motherly science officer Kendra (Carla Gugino) and his robot best pal (voiced by director Peter Chelsom). When he turns 16, Nathaniel decides it's time for Elliot to visit Earth, not knowing that he has developed an online relationship with the tearaway teen Tulsa (Britt Robertson) in Colorado. So when he lands on Earth, Elliot escapes and teams up with Tulsa to search for his father. But Nathaniel and Kendra know that Elliot can't survive for long in Earth's gravity.

There's nothing about this film that's terribly convincing. Events are inexplicable, plot points are under-explained and the filmmakers oddly make no attempt to create a sense of advanced technology or style in 2034. The clothing and cars are distinctly 2016 vintage, and only the impractical clear-glass computer screens add an improbably futuristic tinge. Of course, the 12-year-olds this film was made for won't care about the details; they'll be caught up in the swoony romantic fantasy. Butterfield is a solid actor who can make even a character this thinly defined believable and likeable. His heavy-gravity physicality is nicely understated. And he sparks some chemistry with the high-energy Robertson. Meanwhile, Oldman and Gugino add a hint of gravitas in their thankless roles.

Young stars Asa Butterfield (Hugo) and Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland) team up in the new teen romance The Space Between Us

Their new movie hinges on the fact that Butterfield's character Gardner was born on Mars during a Nasa mission and is struggling to adapt to life on Earth. "I'm a big science-fiction fan," says Butterfield, who previously worked in the genre on Ender's Game. "I think what's great about sci-fi is that everything that you see comes from technology that we already have, but just it's far more advanced. So they are almost giving glimpses into our future, whereas fantasy is totally, totally made up. This movie has a science-fiction backdrop, yet it deals with very small and natural feelings and emotions, which I think is pretty cool."

Robertson liked that the film is about the distinctions between men and women (men are from Mars, indeed!), rather than the sci-fi angle. "Yes, it's about different beings," she says. "But it's like I'm sitting in therapy saying, 'He thinks this way and I just don't get it.' I've had a male therapist and a female therapist, and they give advice from two different perspectives. And it helps me! When speaking to a male about males you are like, 'Oh, that's how they think,' because you really don't understand that perspective."

A Dog's Purpose Trailer

If you're lucky enough to have a dog in your life, you'll know that you don't really own them, they are part of your family and are as unique as any other being under your roof.

A Dog's Purpose is a tale that explains just what our furry friends are here for and how they make a great impact on the lives of the people who love them. Ethan's best friend was his dog Bailey, the Golden Retriever; the pair did everything together, Bailey would loyally wait for Ethan to return from school so the pair could go out and play. Ethan and Bailey went everywhere together and Bailey even played a part in finding Ethan his first girlfriend Hannah.

As Bailey grew older he eventually lost his life but that was far from the end of his story. Bailey was still on earth but reincarnated in the body of a German Shepard, the pup had a lot of new things to learn as this life was going to be far tougher than his previous life on the farm. Bailey was now called Ellie and not only is he now a she, Ellie is a police dog and works with search and rescue. Ellie is very close to her new handlers and believes that this role is the reason why she's been put on earth.

Tomorrowland Review

Big summer blockbusters are so rarely optimistic that it's tricky to know how to take this movie, its utopian view of the future is a refreshing antidote to both dystopic-nightmare thrillers and those blood-boiling, doom-and-gloom documentaries about how the end of the world is nigh. Even more interesting is the idea that this movie is essentially based on Walt Disney himself, who believed creativity and invention were the key to a happy tomorrow. So it's a bit of a shame that everything feels so childish.

The story centres on the restless Casey (Britt Robertson), an almost frighteningly brainy teenager who's trying to keep Nasa from closing down the launch pad where her dad (Tim McGraw) works. Unknown to her, the eerily ageless young Athena (Raffey Cassidy) is watching, leaving a pin that's a key to a magical glimpse of a parallel space-age future. Investigating this, Casey travels to Houston, where she gets in trouble at a sci-fi collectible shop. Rescued by Athena, they travel to New York to meet Frank (George Clooney), a grumpy old man who was once a wide-eyed inventor like Casey and has known Athena since 1964. Together they work out a way to get back to Tomorrowland to confront its pessimistic leader Nix (Hugh Laurie), who seems to have accepted the fact that the world is falling apart.

The script briefly grazes against big ideas like global poverty and climate change, which gives the film a hint of weight to balance out a plot that is clearly aimed at a 10-year-old. It's all rather simplistic, which means it doesn't quite speak to grown-ups, although the positive approach can't help but catch the interest. Director Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) keeps the imagery whizzy, with fabulous gadgets and thrilling effects work that beautifully imagines a city of the future. Plus a pretty cool Eiffel Tower revelation. He also makes sure that the characters' intelligence shines through, which allows Robertson and Clooney to inject a sparky sense of rivalry.

The 'Tomorrowland' premiere turned out a lot of stars on the red carpet this weekend, with George Clooney bringing along his wife (predictably - this couple seems joined at the hip!) Amal Clooney as well as her angel-faced teenage daughter Mia Alamuddin.

Mr. Clooney was his usual dashing self as he hit the premiere of his latest movie, Disney fantasy 'Tomorrowland', suavely dressed in a black suit and chest-bearing black shirt, while wife Amal took chic to a new level with a youthful black and pink number - complete with shades to block out those rays, of course.

It's now time to get excited for what looks to be one of the most visually stunning movies of the year as the first full trailer for George Clooney's 'Tomorrowland' arrives, bringing with it adventure, danger, fantasy, and a whole lotta mystery.

There's not a lot of information being revealed out this upcoming magical, sci-fi journey, but from what we gather we can expect a shedload of futuristic gadgets, an object of extreme power, a mystical land beyond reach and angst-ridden teenaged hero. Standard fantasy stuff then - but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Casey Newton loves inventing and all things scientific, but she's definitely got a problem with authority. After a run in with the cops, she discovers an unusual artifact - a coin sized pin with a large letter 'T' on the front that, when handled, seems to take her to a sun-drenched wheatfield in a strange land. Unfortunately, nobody else believes her newfound phenomenon so she is forced to explore the mystery behind it herself. She eventually stumbles across a old scientist named Frank Walker who informs her that the futuristic land she has seen is Tomorrowland, a place full of the smartest individuals set on changing the world for the better. And now he has his eye on Casey as his latest recruit. But it's a dangerous journey for a young girl and she has to be ready for a fight.
