Embattled rap mogul Damon Dash is reportedly facing a legal battle over outstanding child support with one of the mothers of his kids.
Jay Z's former business partner blasted a lawyer named Donnell Suares on Instagram.com on Sunday (22Feb15), accusing the legal professional of taking "advantage of weak women".
Suares has since responded to Dash's social media attack, explaining to AllHipHop.com that the hip-hop industry veteran's outburst was in regards to a pending child support case.
He does not identify the name of his client, but Dash has a son named Damon Jr. with his ex-girlfriend Linda Williams and two kids, daughters Ava, 15, and six-year-old Tallulah, with his ex-wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, who he divorced in 2009.
In a statement, Suares writes in part, "I represent the mother of Damon Dash's children. She retained me to represent her in seeking back child support from Mr. Dash. Mr. Dash described the mother of his children as 'weak'. My client is a strong and intelligent woman seeking to recover what she is rightfully and legally owed according to the law."
Further details about the case were unavailable as Wenn went to press, but Williams accused Dash of falling behind on child support payments in 2011.
Dash has been struggling with financial issues in recent years. The former Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder was evicted from his New York home in 2013 after allegedly falling behind on his rent, while he was also previously slapped with a $2.8 million (£1.65 million) federal tax bill relating to earnings dating back to 2005.
He is currently suing director Lee Daniels for $25 million (£14.7 million) over allegations the filmmaker reneged on the terms of an investment deal for a string of film projects, including movies Precious, The Paper Boy and The Butler.
