Who will replace Hill on Sunday Night Football?
Six years is enough time to get used to something, but now, football fans settling in to their weekly fix of sport on a Sunday night won’t hear the dulcet tones of Faith Hill any more, as she’s out.
As most stars do nowadays, Hill alerted fans and the media to the news via Twitter. “I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," she tweeted, adding, "….Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF - I'll b watching!!!" Sunday Night Football executive producer Fred Gaudelli tweeted ''great love and appreciation'' to Hill for her participation over the years. He didn’t give any clue as to which direction they would go with regards to the new singer, so fans will have to wait for that bombshell. Hill has been part of football since 1999, when she sang the national anthem for the Tennessee Titans' new stadium in Nashville. She went on to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 2000.
Faith Hill is waving goodbye to SNF
"I'm a football fan!” said Hill - who is married to fellow country superstar Tim McGraw - in an interview a few years back.” I have to be to be able to have a conversation with my husband during football season. I've learned a lot about football ... I understand when to ask a question. Something's happened on the field, and if I don't quite understand what's going on, you never ask a question during a replay!"
