Julie Walters is to be honoured with an outstanding achievement award at the Moet British Independent Film Awards on Sunday (08.12.13).
The 'Harry Potter' actress will receive the Richard Harris Award for her contributions to British film at the ceremony, which takes place at Old Billingsgate Market in London.
The award has previously been awarded to Daniel Day-Lewis, John Hurt, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes and Michael Gambon.
Walters first entered the acting scene working with TV comedienne Victoria Wood but broke into films with her BAFTA and Golden Globe-winning performance in 1984 hit 'Educating Rita', in which she starred alongside Sir Michael Caine, and was also nominated for an Academy Award.
The 63-year-old actress and novelist received another Academy Award nomination in 2001 for Stephen Daldry's 'Billy Elliot' and was cast later that year as Molly Weasley in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'.
She continued to play the role of Ron Weasley's mother for the next 10 years in all seven of the feature films and also took on parts in 'Calendar Girls' and the ABBA musical 'Mamma Mia!'
Walters recently starred in Paul Potts biopic 'One Chance' and will will next be seen on the big screen in 'The Harry Hill Movie' and as Mrs. Bird in the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of 'Paddington Bear', which is expected to be released in late 2014.
