Smith & Burrows may sound like a hardware store in a remote, timeless village somewhere in deepest darkest Yorkshire, the sort of place that hasn't changed for the best part of fifty years but that can always be relied upon to sell you exactly the right type of screws you were looking for, where as in actuality they are a musical duo made up of Tom Smith and Andy Burrows.
Tom Smith will be better known to you as the lead singer with Birmingham band Editors and Andy Burrows, whilst having a substantial back catalogue of solo material, will probably be more widely remembered for his roles in Razorlight and We Are Scientists. The pair formed a friendship many, many years ago and that originally culminated in them releasing an album of Christmas themed songs almost a decade ago. Their debut album, 'Funny Looking Angels', released in November 2011, featured covers that included Katie Melua's 'Wonderful Life' and Yazoo's 'Only You' and was characterised by it's soft harmonies and Folk-centric instrumentation.

St Andrew's Day has inspired us to find you the very best Andrews that have made their mark in music.
As it's St Andrew's Day we thought we'd have a bit of fun and find the best Andrews in music. There's not as many movers and shakers as you may think but we're sure you'll like the bundle we've plumped for. We looked far and wide and were quite picky with our final eight. Andy Williams, The Andrews' Sisters, Andrew Ridgley, Andrew Roachford and Andrew Gold may have made their mark in various ways but, sadly, they didn't make it onto the final list. St Andrew may have been a fisherman, and not a musician, but we think the apostle would appreciate those talented artists who took his name.

The band's fourth album, 'Olympus Sleeping', will be released in October, a full decade after their last record.
London indie-rock outfit Razorlight have announced details of their first new album in ten years, releasing four new music videos and revealing a UK tour for December 2018.
The band will release their fourth studio album Olympus Sleeping, a full decade after their last record, on October 26th. It will see the legendarily confident singer Johnny Borrell working with guitarist David Ellis and The Pretenders' Martin Chambers on drums.
Razorlight were one of the biggest British guitar acts of the Noughties, scoring a UK number 1 hit with their 2006 single ‘America’ and shifting over 1.5 million copies of their first album Up All Night. However, their fortunes dropped away alarmingly with their third album Slipway Fires in 2008, and Borrell became an industry punchline, infamously selling fewer than 600 copies of his first solo album Borrell 1 in 2013.

Noel Gallagher has listened to new Arctic Monkeys album 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' and admits he doesn't know what to make of the experimental direction.
Noel Gallagher was expecting a ''few choruses'' on the new Arctic Monkeys album 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino'.
The 'Holy Mountain' hitmaker has had a chance to check out the Sheffield band's sixth studio album which has split the opinion of fans due to its experimental direction.
Frontman Alex Turner has described the concept behind the record as being the idea of a ''retirement home for rock stars on the moon'', and Noel, 50, has taken the time to give it a listen but admits he didn't enjoy the songs because most lack any classic choruses or melodies.

Razorlight and Johnny Borrell - Cornbury Music Festival 2015 at the Great Tew Estate - Day 1 at Great Tew, Cornbury Music Festival - Oxfordshire, United Kingdom - Friday 10th July 2015
Johnny Borrell has sold 594 copies of his album. If he got £8.99 a copy, he's made £5340. Yeah!
It's not typical record company procedure, but this is Stiff Records, "where the fun never sets," - apparently.
The label sent out a hilarious press release this week, announcing the first sales figures for Johnny Borrell's - of Razorlight fame - first solo album, Borrell 1. It's actually the first new album that Stiff Records have put out since 2007 - and it sold just 594 copies. Given the Beatles reference in the title, it's probably not too serious.
But anyway, to put that into perspective, that's just less than The Voice winner Leanne Mitchell managed to shift.
