Creed sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. Scott Stapp doesn't have any money.
Creed may well have sold 30 million albums in the United States but it has been revealed that singer Scott Stapp is completely broke and currently living at a Holiday Inn. According to Stapp, he recently checked his finances and found that his money had been secretly stolen from him.

"About eight weeks ago, I began an audit of not only my record company but my personal finances," Stapp told Rolling Stone. "During the course of that audit, a lot of things were uncovered. A lot of money was stolen from me, or royalties not paid, and that's when all hell began to break loose."

Stapp says things got so bad that until recently he was living in his truck and had no money for food or gas.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Stapps wife, the ex-Miss USA Jaclyn Stapp filed for divorce, asking for full custody of the couple's children. She also released text messages allegedly sent from the rock singer, including:
"I'm coming to get you Satan and children. No mercy. You know how this ends. God created you and now God is ending you."
"Wells Fargo working out my account problems. I'm out of gas. Haven't eaten all day. I'm asking if they can spot me $1,000 so I don't fall over from malnutrition."
"God is also telling me something about Palm Springs and Nashville so there's a connection somehow. He's also telling me DEA for some reason"
Jaclyn alleges that Stapp has been recently using drugs, though in a new video posted on Facebook explaining his plight, the rock singer insists he is sober.
Creed, who had an album certified diamond status during their heyday, are often recognized as one of the most successful acts of the post-grunge movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
