Sofia Vergara wowed the crowd with her stunning dress at the Emmy Awards last night (18.09.11).

The 'Modern Family' actress - who stars alongside Ariel Winter and Jesse Tyler Ferguson in the show - dazzled on the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles in a fire-red Vera Wang gown as the programme took home five gongs, including the prestigious Best Comedy Series.

Speaking on the red carpet at the event, she said to E!: "You want to talk about my figure?," she asked with excitement. "I love talking about my figure!"

Despite her glittering outfit, the 39-year-old stunner - who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the show - lost out to fellow 'Modern Family' cast member Julie Bowen for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series gong.

Sofia's colleague Ty Burrell picked up the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series award, and Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Richman were successful in the Writing, Comedy Series category.

The programme's success on the night led to Emmys host Jane Lynch joking: "Welcome to the Modern Family Awards."
