As yet, it's unclear why exactly Henry Cavill is parting ways with Warner Bros.. The main suggestion is his inability to honour his commitments due to scheduling conflicts what with filming a new Netflix series called 'The Witcher'. But then other sources have said that that came after the breakdown of his contract, and that the move has been down to 'recognition that some parts of the previous movies didn't work'.

Henry Cavill Reportedly Exits Superman Role

Henry Cavill

After holding down the role for five years, Henry Cavill is reportedly set to hang up his cape and step down from his role as Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe.

According to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (September 12th), scheduling conflicts in Cavill’s diary have led Warner Bros. – the studio responsible for bringing the DC Extended Universe to life – to call time on any future appearances from the English actor as Superman.

35 year Cavill first played Superman in 2013's Man of Steel, and reprised the same character in the 2016 follow-up Batman v. Superman alongside Ben Affleck as Batman, and last year's blockbuster blow-out Justice League.

Henry Cavill "Would Love" To Play James Bond

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill is without a doubt a fan-favourite choice to one day step into the role of James Bond. Standing alongside fellow frontrunners such as Tom Hardy and Aidan Turner, he's somebody who has not only the looks, but the acting chops to back up a claim to such an iconic character. For now however, Daniel Craig is sticking with the film franchise, and will play Bond for a fifth time in a movie being directed by Danny Boyle.

Henry Cavill Apologises For Comments About #MeToo

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill has attempted to row back on controversial comments he made regarding dating in the post-#MeToo age in a recent interview, saying he “doesn’t want to flirt in case he gets called a rapist”.

The British actor came under fire for recent comments he made to GQ Australia, when asked about the #MeToo movement and the sexual abuse scandal in Hollywood that triggered it.

Regarding his own behaviour, Cavill said: “There’s something wonderful about a man chasing a woman. There’s a traditional approach to that, which is nice. I think a woman should be wooed and chased, but maybe I’m old-fashioned for thinking that.”

Henry Cavill Addresses Controversy Surrounding 'Justice League' Moustache CGI

Henry Cavill

'Justice League' may not have been the biggest success for Warner Bros., despite bringing together some of DC's biggest characters ever for the first time on the big screen, but the film still makes up a huge part of the unofficially-titled DC Extended Universe. One of the biggest criticisms of the movie however did not come from a performance or a particular scene, but because of the CGI work done on Henry Cavill as Superman, who had to have his real-life moustache removed during reshoots.

Though not a hugely serious problem, it was one that took up a lot of media coverage, with Cavill himself addressing the situation and poking fun at the CGI on a number of occasions. Now though, in a new interview, he's opened up a little more about the work done to his face after reshoots and the "real problem" of sporting the facial hair.

Henry Cavill Could Have Superman Cameo In 'Shazam!'

Henry Cavill

Following his resurrection in the recent 'Justice League' movie, the DC Extended Universe will likely be seeing a lot more of the Man of Steel in the coming years, with Henry Cavill of course continuing to tackle the role of Clark Kent, aka Superman. The world of DC Films is only set to expand however, with more superheroes from the pages of DC comic books entering the fray.

One of those is the alter-ego of teenager Billy Batson. Asher Angel will be stepping into the role of Billy on the big screen, whilst Zachary Levi will be taking on his superhero persona, Shazam. The aptly-titled 'Shazam!' isn't expected to premiere for another year yet, but details seem to be coming thick and fast as to what we should expect.

Henry Cavill Pays Tribute To Moustache As He Finally Shaves

Henry Cavill

Everyone likes celebrities who can enjoy a joke at their own expense, and so it is with Superman actor Henry Cavill, who has acknowledged the months of trolling concerning his moustache with an ‘in memoriam’ video dedicated to his facial hair after he shaved it off.

The 34 year old star’s moustache became the stuff of viral legend last summer when it was the subject of some of the worst CGI ever seen in film history. Cavill had been starring in Justice League as Superman in mid-2017, a role that he had held down for five years in the DC cinematic universe.

Nothing weird about that, but he was also working on Mission: Impossible 6 at around the same time of shooting, and that role required him to have facial hair. When Warner Bros unexpectedly scheduled re-shoots for Justice League, he had no choice but to shoot his parts with his moustache and ask the special effects team to remove it post-production.

Henry Cavill Says We See The "True Superman" In Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

Henry Cavill

'Justice League' may not have been the biggest box office hit or smash with the critics, but the film is still something that makes up a huge chunk of canon within the DC Extended Universe. Behind-the-scenes, director Zack Snyder had to step down from his role halfway through the filmmaking process, paving the way for Joss Whedon to step in and eventually leading to fans petitioning for the release of a full Snyder-cut of the movie.

Though that doesn't look to be something that will now happen, there are still glimpses of the cast and crew working on the film from when Snyder was in charge, as part of the exclusive features on the home release of the Warner Bros. production.

Henry Cavill Explains How The 'Justice League' Superheroes Are Relatable

Henry Cavill

There's now under a week to go until the release of 'Justice League'; the latest entry into the DC Extended Universe and a film that will hopefully continue riding off of the success of 'Wonder Woman'. Whilst 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice', 'Suicide Squad' and 'Man of Steel' didn't see the best critical reviews, 'Wonder Woman' was an immediate success with both reviewers and the wider general public. 'Justice League' will hope to follow the latter's trend.

Warner Bros., along with director Zack Snyder and co-writer Joss Whedon have brought the heroes of the Justice League together for the first time in live-action, with Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg stepping in to join Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. Together, they'll take on the threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons, who have invaded planet Earth to try and get their hands on a trio of Mother Boxes, which would grant them ultimate power.
