Fact: Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been selected to receive Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award. The Dark Knight star will be roasted as he picks up the prize from the school's theatrical group in Massachusetts on 5 February (16), following in the footsteps of 2015's winner, Chris Pratt. He joins Django Unchained actress Kerry Washington among the 2016 honourees - she will be celebrated with the Woman of Year accolade on 28 January (16).

The pair joined forces as part of the U.S. host's TV barbershop quintet and performed the track a cappella for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon audience. Kevin Spacey and Steve Carell have also previously taken part in the musical segment.

Fact: Dustin Hoffman is in talks to join Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Oliver Stone's upcoming movie about infamous U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden. Gordon-Levitt will portray the former National Security Agency (Nsa) employee in The Snowden Files, and the Rain Man star is poised to take on a key role in the film, playing either an Nsa mentor to Snowden or a politician, according to the New York Post's Page Six column. Shailene Woodley is also in negotiations to star as Snowden's girlfriend, dancer Lindsay Mills, who recently moved to Moscow, Russia to live with her exiled beau. Filming on the project is due to begin in Munich, Germany in January (15).

Fact: Sir Ben Kingsley and French actress Charlotte Le Bon are set to join actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a new biopic about high-wire stuntman Philippe Petit. Director Robert Zemeckis will take charge of the big screen adaption of the daredevil's memoir, To Reach the Clouds. Petit made history in 1974 when he 'walked' between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The feat was later recounted in the Oscar-winning 2008 documentary Man on Wire.
